what's up, gull and such here, recent "wait there's more than one of us" realizers. whoops!

still giant robot fans, still pmd: explorers enthusiasts. imagine we are wearing a big button that says "ask us about Void Stranger". you should play all the games we like right now. the media backlog continues to grow ever further, and finally fucking continuing Initial D slips further and further out of reach.....

re-rereading the original yugioh manga REALLY makes me want a Yu-Gi-Oh! Brotherhood or something. this shit rocks. it just feels so RIGHT that it's just a little tough to go back to the DM anime when such a comparatively tight, snappy, focused version of the story is there in print. it all just clicks together so much better

honestly? i think the comic does a really good job with DM (card game). takahashi does a great job both making it a good vessel for character/greater-scope plot development and slowly fleshing out and solidifying a fan-favorite element of the funny gaming series to the point where, by the end, it really has a game worth truly thinking about and wrapping your head around. plus DDM and Millennium World end up getting a lot more spotlight proportionally to their anime counterparts, and both are a lot less Duel Monsters-reliant (MW obviously still has Duel Monster Predecessor Lore Stuff but like... ultimately it's a return to Dark Bakura's Tabletop Gaming From Hell) so as much as dm takes over the comic for so much of it Yugi still feels like he really deserves to be the King of Games rather than the King of One Game And Maybe Like Another If We're Being Generous

however! however. fuck imagine all the other fun games we could've seen too... it coulda been so wild...

God I wish we could see that alternative timeline where the TCG didn't end up being the be-all end-all of the manga/show.

The part-Saw part-Mindgames stuff of the early volumes were still rad as hell. Shoutouts to that one bit early on where Yami basically Burnout-style Psyche Out's a bunch of goons into electrifying themselves.
