imo when designing something like this I think you'd be closer to doing it right if you asked guests to check their phone at the door than by doing it the way they did and heavily integrating a phone app

i was thinking that!! i do not even want to hold my phone if I'm going on holiday, it's crazy that the design mandated it to THAT extent
last time i went out of town for a LARP weekend it was like $30 and still included 3 square meals made by a chef each day
This is the first time I'm hearing of this, I assume they tell you in advance that it's a phone-based experience right? What if you don't own a smartphone and arrive there unknowing? Do they refund you or tell you you can't participate?
