  • BEFORE WE BEGIN: i do not profess to be an expert. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give me your thoughts and opinions. all testing was done in like an hour, by me, at fuckall in the morning against the CPU. most of this does not apply to the stages without walls or floors, for what i feel to be obvious reasons - the Floor Grab Infinite requires that you bounce your foe off the floor first.
    1. Inhert. he takes what feels like an age to start up and an age to end, has absolutely pitiful reach, and he throws backwards horizontally and barely down so to get any kind of Floor Bounce and make spamming even potentially viable you need to be literally up against the floor. not that it will be, because you are so fucking wide open. you shouldn't even be playing grab spam with Inhert anyway
    1. Anubis. on paper and against the CPU, Anubis seems fucking great - solid reach, invincible for the duration of the grabbing animation if you grab or whiff, down-forward throw for easy basketballin', does a shitload of damage, on Anubis (who has the fucking Zero Shift!). however, this is possibly the easiest fucking grab to react to. there is a short window between "grab initiated" and "grab actually begins" when that initial dark pulse shows up to hit anubis and stop it dead. and even after that, there's a good chunk of time between the invincibility starting and him ACTUALLY BEGINNING TO GRAB so you can just. leave. if you get bounced he can start his next grab before you get up, but you only miss the dark pulse phase so you can still just dodge the rest of it. really this one fits Anubis pretty well - long, drawn-out, flashy, well-guarded, hits like a truck... but so fucking obvious to a fault.
    1. Aumaan Anubis. just anubis but tougher overall, really.
    1. Damaged Jehuty. jehuty's grab is great - i'll get to that later - but it ain't so great when it eats your meter. when everyone else gets it free you really start to fall behind, and that ain't so great when you're missing the rest of your fucking kit. thats why im putting her here, down with inhert's Useless Grab and anubis's Incredibly Fucking Telegraphed Grab.
    1. Ardjet. i would call Ardjet's grab "fine". it's alright. comes out at an okay speed to not be like abjectly terrible, throws horizontally so you really cannot bounce anyone particularly easily (walls aint so good for bouncing) but at least it's straight forward so closing distance after is easy, fine range. yawn. everything would be hunky dory if everyone's grabs were like hers and
    1. Nephtis's. her grab is "pretty good". it has some startup, sure, so chaining it isn't that great just like everyone else except Anubis vs. CPUs on this list up to this entry. but she homes in on you better than anyone else, so if she isn't whacked out of it (or run from) you're in for a tossin'. throws backwards, but diagonally down so if you bounce off the ground she CAN grab you again... but she can't immediately act on it, leaving you free to get to better space.
    1. Jehuty. she is the next three entries on this list for a reason. her grabs come out fast, throw straight forward in the direction she's facing, and have low enough end lag that - if you're in the right position - she could Floor Grab Infinite you if you aren't careful. add that to an already well-rounded character with a great dash and you have a recipe for Grab City.
    1. Jehuty ver.2. you liked jehuty before? yeah i hope you did because Jehuty ver.2 is also immune to regular and dash projectiles.
    1. Naked Jehuty. nekjeht here is... well, Jehuty ver.2 without the Options floating behind and with a general further stat bump. bleh bleh.
    1. VIC. FUCKING. VIPER. dear fucking god you do not want to be anywhere near the floor in close range with Vic in LEV mode. ANYWHERE. his grab does not come out too fast initially, but it has solid reach and throws down-forward - and it still comes out JUST fast enough that you CANNOT REACT if he throws you against the floor. Vic Viper can Floor Grab Infinite you, EASILY. menace in the air with Vic Viper mode's kitchen-sink projectile array, menace on the ground with this absolute monstrosity. find yourself grabbed and on the ground? pray to whatever God is nearest that the other player shows you mercy.

QUICK EDIT did not test to see if DamJeht, Inhert or Anubis can react fast enough to escape Vic Grab Hell with their respective teleports. but Anubis takes zero throw damage, so really its just the other two. whatever.
