what's up, gull and such here, recent "wait there's more than one of us" realizers. whoops!

still giant robot fans, still pmd: explorers enthusiasts. imagine we are wearing a big button that says "ask us about Void Stranger". you should play all the games we like right now. the media backlog continues to grow ever further, and finally fucking continuing Initial D slips further and further out of reach.....

Quest Level 1, or at least Quest 2 Level 1, bottoms out at B8F... i wonder how deep you can go in the other levels before stairs just Stop and you're faced with large strong 20hp enemies basically saying This Is The End Of The Line

edit: also what happens if you cast Stairs to descend further past there...? am curious now

hit the credits for beating Level 6 of every quest! still got the other levels to check out, of course...

what a fun time. each dive really does feel like a highly compressed pocket dungeon crawl. it's a lot of fun to think around enemy movement and the quirks of turn processing to pick your fights well, and sometimes just pray the numbers are coming up Milhouse if you've misjudged. item management becomes everything when your eight slots of pocket space is all you have to get an edge on the perils. it gets tough, but never in a way that leaves behind that lunch-break adventure session scope.

Void Stranger really is just a massively expanded non-randomly-generated love letter to this... if you play this you will know where VS got so much of it from and everything will come together

what i'm saying is: great little game. highly recommended

just a little bite sized game boy roguelike. loving it. i think this and the lucasarts desktop adventures occupy similar spaces (fun little solitaire-game-length adventure game diversion) and i think there shouls be even more games in this vein. they need to make more video games containing a whole adventure the size of "i have a little downtime but want something a little meatier than a minute-long-levels mobile game"
