The most popular theory I've seen, and one I subscribe to, is that Moonpaw is going to be the daughter of Nightheart and Sunbeam. I've also seen the same people or others point out that Sunbeam mentioned she wanted to wait a while to have kits (which is great !! i love family planning !!!). If she genuinely changes her mind or, worse, Nightheart changes it for her, that would suck. BUT ! I have a different idea !! What if... she just gets knocked up ? Unintentionally ? An unwanted pregnancy conflict that isn't technically illegal (like Bluestar, Yellowfang, Leafpool etc...) but just undesirable would be fascinating, especially if we're viewing it from the perspective of the unwanted child.

They almost certainly are not going to do that but would be cool !

It is criticised in-universe by characters we are clearly supposed to agree with, and in an arc that demonstrates StarClan's capacity to make poor decisions. I mean we as a community knew StarClan was on some shit but TBC showed that the writing team agreed. Yes, it is sad that the Dark Forest cats who helped the Lights in the Mist will never have a second chance, but that's not a bias on the part of the authors, but on the part of StarClan.

Just seems strange to assume we're not supposed to critique StarClan and that StarClan being anti-redemption means the books are anti-redemption.

on another note about Warrior Cats and morality, and common misconceptions, Tigerstar wasn't "born evil". He was born with great potential, and the potential for good was squandered early in life with an absent kittypet father and an abusive mentor. Yes, StarClan suggests killing Tigerkit in fear of what he could become, but Doestar is clear when she tells Pinestar that, with guidance, Tigerkit could become a great and noble leader. That just isn't what happened.

Anyways rant over I just dislike when readers take the least charitable interpretation of every single thing that happens in these books.

KEEP IN MIND THE FIRST BOOK OF CHANGING SKIES HASN'T RELEASED YET !!! THIS IS ALL SPECULATION

good thing: I'm so here for the elder POV

bad thing: unfortunately I'm worried this POV will be undistinguishable from a warrior POV as they're going to be doing journey things instead of elder things

good thing: moonpaw's name is so 2009 and I love that for her

bad thing: I'm worried Moonpaw is going to be another anxious reserved little guy medicine cat and that's been getting... old...

good thing: i don't know what destroying the moonpool will mean in the long run but I hope it's hinting at a soft reboot =0

bad thing: skyclan being the target of twolegs again is kind of funny but also I'd like if it was, say, thunderclan, so some of the honeyfurs and eaglewings can die

good thing: i think leafstar is going to die and that will be good because she has been leader of skyclan for 5000 years

bad thing: i do not want hawkstar, sorry

good thing: continuing the trend of the tie-in super edition which I know is controversial but personally I really like

bad thing: they didn't mention whistlepaw as a pov =[

overall i am... moderately hyped for this. looking forward to ivypools heart which will give some more context
