too many people are eager to post their "yeah! 2024 year of the dragon!" and "2024, time to tf into a dragon" stuff on January 1 long before the mooncakes and red envelopes are supposed to be passed out. and i know it's not people who regularly eat mooncakes or pass out red envelopes for lunar new year, either!
if you're going to invest in an observance from (an)other culture(s), don't jump the gun by a month or more every year, please. at least pretend you're paying attention to what's supposed to be going on!
(and of course, this wouldn't be an issue if lny moved around like ramadan)
