  1. palworld is stealing from nintendo
  2. stealing from nintendo is always good
  3. palworld modified them enough to not violate copyright though
  4. palworld may have done this through stealing fan creations or ai art, it's not proven yet

thus there's an obvious answer here. it's only Morally Acceptable to play palworld if you use the mod that replaces all your little guys with the Pokemon they're based on. if it's "totally not pikachu" that's evil, but if it's just a fuckin pikachu, that's praxis

it'd be the worst day for gaming social media since. anything. ever. it'd be incredible. there would be no survivors

it's already, like, the most needlessly convoluted discourse I can remember seeing about a game in the last few years, the wizard game was Worse but the discourse about it really only had two issues going on

in reply to @JuniperTheory's post:

I mean the discourse I've seen, whilst touching on potential AI-use, is more abt the ability to literally capture, butcher, or sell human NPCs on the black market.

Full disclosure I only even heard abt this game less than a week ago and ignored it until shit started popping up abt AI and human trafficking mechanics fhsjdh I've still never actively sought any info, and I feel like every new post I see is the tip of some terrifying iceberg beneath the surface

EDIT: like to be clear I'm of the mind of "live and let live" if shit isn't directly hurting other ppl & whatever games ppl wanna play. And I have opinions on this game bc of what I've read & gameplay I've seen that are irrelevant to this. But there's def a larger discussion/discourse/what have you taking place abt aspects of the game outside alleged AI-use :O
