americans love to reply to posts from non-americans looking for some product or service or whatever and they link to an american shop or amazon. what's up with that? what's wrong with them?

podcaster i follow has a bit about how, having a decently large twitter following, every time he says something like "lovely 30 degree day out" he gets a bunch of replies from incredulous americans assuming he must actually be freezing
