The inclusion of the Shotel as a soulsborne mainstay has always been interesting to me. Mostly european/middle east weaponry, some katanas due to the creator's Japanese provincialism, and a sick nasty Ethiopian sickle-sword that was fairly obscure in the west before its inclusion in the franchise.
