have just learned of this radio, the personification of indecision in design. four separate controls to pick four digits of the frequency. flip a lever to go from 146 mhz to 147; turn a knob to dial in 147.500; another knob to get 147.510; press a button to turn the last digit into a 5. horrifying

I can't help but this is someone who might've been aiming to solve an issue that could've been fixed by a smooth/coarse dial setup.
I’m here being baffled by the +600/-600 offset switch (fine) and the LED that’s labeled “+600 -600”. Which is it?! What does it mean if the LED is glowing??? Why do I need the light, why can’t I just look at the switch???????
I've got one of those and it's probably my favourite 2m radio (besides lack of easilly configurable pl tones). Theres something great about the mechanicalness of the design. Plus it's a radio that someone blind could easilly use and know what freq they're on by touch
