you could get these in any train station newsagents and half the pages were match results for the fictional football teams that i'm pretty sure were generated by running CPU vs CPU matches in a FIFA game. the avant garde is Real

I seem to recall reading about how at some point during the Twilight boom, the Sun briefly replaced this comic with one based around vampires, only to revert it back to this series a few years later, presumably because Sun readers cannot comprehend the idea of fiction and only wish to read about The Footy and whatever sensationalist xenophobic nonsense is shoved into their faces right at this second.
