Former master theif and world renowned criminal, Kiera found herself low on her luck one day, threatened not only by the possibility of capture by the authorities among other things, but general isolation from any meaningful relationship because of her career, causing a divide between her and any former friends, and completely cutting off the ability to make new ones. It was at this point that she turned to some not-so-perfect gods in an attempt to turn her life around, and was promised the interest of many, if she dedicated the rest of her life to giving back what she had taken.
And that she did, unaware of her quickly changing body, and equally unaware of the fact that she would soon never be able to make friends again. Not for lack of trying, but because she was bound by a contract she simply didn't read the fine lines of. Soon, she would manifest into a creature of a wholly different shape from what she used to be, losing everything that made her who she was... it was frankly kinda gender.
Eventually, she did give back all that she had taken- relics, money, precious gems and the likes... all to the gain of those that had changed her. And sure, she was finally getting attention again, but it always felt one sided and meaningless, she was the beautiful dragoness that you fell in love with only to be charged a drastically over the top price for mundane objects. It took her years of running the scam to realize what it really was. But when she did, it wasn't soon before she could turn it around on those who had used her for their own gain for so long.
Soon, those drastically high prices were only being charged to those with an abundant amount of money, which soon found its way not benefitting some cruel gods, but returning to the pockets of the people. Soon, she took on the business of recovering and selling cursed relics, learning what they did before eventually selling them off to help bring happiness and enable the simple fantasies of the people she once thought she could never bond with, finding meaning in seeing the smiles that she brought to others' faces.
And for those she deemed as a symbol of avarice as she was cruely meant to imitate, those who ruled not because of their leadership capabilities but because of their wealth, Kiera's slimy self was more than happy to make a few kobolds out of them... that and those who seemed interested in the whole process of course...
