this weekend at sakuracon i was in the strive tournament and it was soooo much fun! it was my first time playing at a thing in person and also my first tournament! it was double elimination and my goal was just to not go 0-2 and i ended up going 2-2, mission accomplished \o/

god its so weird to be able to hear commentators talk about your gameplay WHILE youre playing. and also hooo boy hitting buttons correctly in person/at a tournament is WAY HARDER huh??? i was playing at like 25% capacity it was wiiiild.

my first game in the losers bracket i was playing really badly and kept dropping even basic combos and i was like "huh, that's weird. i must be so nervous that im just whiffing everything". i won that first game in that bo3 set. then in the second game i realized: my kick button wasnt bound. somehow id missed the kick button when setting up my controls. i was dropping my combos because half of my bnb setups are with kicks. i managed to play around it for that second game and i won that too! 2-0 set. i did not tell my opponent that i beat them with an entire normal unbound. and i will now be asking for a button check in every tournament i play in from now on.
