your team owns Duck and all Duck related-systems. except for RubberDuck and DecoyDuck, which is owned by a different team that decided they needed their own duck-like object. that other team also owns CannotQuack and DuckCall (which functions identically to Quack but is written in go and exposes a different API) since they built them while working on those systems without telling anyone until they were finished. there are conversations about transferring ownership but neither team can agree on whether a fake duck counts falls under the "Duck Engineering" division in the org chart
the concept of Quacking falls under the domain of Noise + Sonorous Emitters (NoSE). that team rebranded 2 years ago from Quacking Development (QD) because they were planning on making different kinds of audible tools, but company direction pivoted and now the only non-quacking technology they own is Squeak which is only used in legacy systems
Flying and everything adjacent, is owned by the Central Aviation Tech (CAT) team. that team's mascot is a photo of an employee's cat (that employee left the company three years ago). you're pretty sure that team does other things too but your only point of contact is a guy on that team thats been at the company for 15 years that you just dm directly when you have questions
