Nord played Farlanders, a turn-based city builder on Mars. The pixel graphics are gorgeous in this one and Nord had fun trying to figure it all out.
We'd been meaning to check out this roguelite cooking and serving restaurant game. It's really enjoyable and players get to decide how to arrange their restaurant. Also, Twitch integration makes it fun to serve viewers that visit your restaurant.
We had trouble figuring out if having a scrub brush for washing the dishes a little faster was actually worth it since you have to take the time to pick it up and also put it back down if you want to do something other than washing the dishes. We're still experimenting with it to see what works for two people. It seems more useful for games with over two people.
Overall, the game is fun, and we enjoyed earning upgrades and unlocking items for our restaurant.
There are only three more days left of Steam Next Fest Feb 2023! Here are a couple more games I enjoyed. Please be sure to wishlist and check out the demo for yourself.
The first is a narrative game by Laura Shigihara called Mr. Saitou. I really enjoyed this one about a white-collar worker and there's a bit of toilet humor at the end. You either have to watch the video or play the game to find out what I mean, but it's great!
The second game is an adorable game called Mineko's Night Market by Meowza Games. You get to pick flowers, meet people, give gifts, craft, and save cats. Japanese culture influences the art in this game. Please enjoy!
