podcasts def seem easier to do than video, but if one were to upload them on youtube, would podcasts have less or equal reach to videos? what do you think?

podcasts have a way smaller reach than videos because no one listens to podcasts on youtube. anyone who enjoys a podcast you upload to youtube will subscribe off youtube, meaning that viewtime falls off a cliff, meaning a podcast will almost never be pushed by the algorithm. not to say don't do it, its good for promo, but they push against every one of the platform's algorithm driven incentives

Youtube might be good for clips or out of context moments that could be amusing or help promote the kind of show you want to do. I've been subscribed to Mick Foley's podcast on YT but I've only ever checked out the shorter clips cause yeah I would rather do anything than listen to a podcast on youtube
