random question but, did you do any training or tertiary education? if so, what did you take?

i went to university and got a diploma in screenwriting and a degree in film studies/creative writing, due to really dumb reasons of having to transfer for health reasons between year 2/3 and just having to start again lol. scholars worldwide agree this was a massive waste of time and money as i have literally got more career opportunities from sitting in my room playing video games than i did from university. it's a shame because i do like it on the most abstract level, i like learning and i like hanging out, theoretically the two things you do at uni, but due to my subject/it being 2012 when i started it felt like i truly could have stayed at home.

like i only submitted 70 pages of screenplay across two years of a screenwriting degree! that has given me six figures of debt! seventy pages in two years. all i learned was that i didn't want to do screenwriting for a living lmao.

anyway yeah that's my higher education. it is what it is. if i could do it all again i woulda spent the early 2010s learning a trade while doing abnormal mapping.

this happened to me, albeit not in exactly the same field. studied game design for 3 years, didn't learn to make games, graduated and realised that the prospect of working in ~the industry~ made me feel sick. i think i'm going to try to become a pharmacy technician now.
