This was towards the tail end of summer in 2021. We were on a day trip from our home base in Nara, as we explored a giant tower that was David Bowie themed for an upcoming movie about him. There was something about the starkness of the white square, contrasted with the colored shapes in the background, the harsh shadows of the businessman, and for some reason it just conjures up the vibes on a Sunny Day Real Estate album cover or something.
Man, I really wish that film stock wasn't so damn expensive. When I first moved to Japan I was shooting 5-10 rolls a week. Since the pandemic, I think I've shot 3 rolls in roughly two years.
