and by that I mean I just want a mic that picks up my voice and doesnt pick up noise or echo. no matter what combination of headset and mic I use nothing works. I use a usb mic and thats too quiet. I use a headset and it picks up echo, or noise, never my actual voice. just do the fucking thing youre designed to do

Do you need them both in one unit? If not get a yeti blue snowball (or Better) and a decent pair of whatever headset you like. The reason everyone gets snowballs is because they work and they have great audio. There’s better stuff but I just have a snowball and a cheap mic arm and my audio quality is better than most podcasts.

Mic arms save desk space, IMO. You clamp them to the edge of a desk or similar and move them to your face basically. Otherwise you need to have a stand taking up more than a bit of the edge of your desk in a more central location.
