While gassing my bike up for the ride I saw another moped rider, who has sometimes done group rides with but often has issues with his bike, break down at the same gas station I was at. So I went over and tried to massage the carb that was on their bike (the same type as mine, a PHBG) into getting the bike to idle and run. I don't know what was wrong with it but it seemed to respond well to whatever I did.

Ride was led by Kenji who did a classic route through Queen Anne, a series of fast sweeping turns. Then a reverse route through some areas I was used to. This is around the Discovery Park and some of the more industrial marinas by Ballard. The streets here have a lot of really fucked up tarmac and seams in the road, so I am always watching the road ahead of me. It's dark. You're going about 40mph trying to keep up with the pack. etc.

Large hill which I unfortunately hesitated on, which bogged my bike down and I lost the ride momentarily but caught up. Lost them again by refusing to do yet another moving violation. My pedal chain came clean off and was rubbing against my tire so I stopped to fix that before, you know, my tire disintegrated.
