do I want to make a new project? do I even want to keep making games? have I done enough? im not going to raise my reputation or get some kind of breakout success, and I found game making in my spare time to be grueling. I found some success, but the ecosystem that could support my work (game blogs, etc) doesnt exist anymore. there isnt much of a local community around the kind of game making im interested in - those are really geared to commercial games and the steam indie game hustle. I really dont want the last project I did to be the last project

This is how I feel after large projects too - right up to the moment I have a new Game Idea™, and then it's back to game-making mode. I think it's normal to have a coming-down period after a release, while the stress/burnout from that project is still high. After a while, the intrinsic motivation to make stuff always returns.
