Currently Elon wants there to be a $20 monthly fee for users to keep their blue checkmark, and has told the engineering team charged with this change that the deadline is Nov 7th and if they don't launch the feature they're fired. Previously this week he wanted all engineers to print out their code from the last 30 to 60 days so he could personally review it.
I think he's just going to torture staff engineers until they all quit and install his own culture, one that's blindingly loyal to him, so he can make a software company in his own image. It's very much an ego thing at this point, being able to back out of a bad faith deal. He's going to continue to add ill-concieved features on his own whims that go nowhere, waste everyone's time, and make the site worse. Eventually it's just going to be elon-stans. It doesn't matter how bad he runs the site or how much money he burns, because he'll just get more from his billionaire friends. It'll be used as an example of management, copied by his acolytes.
Anyway, now's the best time to learn how to blog
