I have decided to use the Obsidian Markdown tool for writing, the "Longform" plugin to organize the project into scenes and eventually export (?) it when finished. and Pandoc to export to HTML. I want to embed images in it when it's finished and I haven't figured out how to do that yet. Pandoc doesn't seem to want to convert image embeds in md to image tags in html.
edit: figured it out. you have to use different syntax when embedding images
