I guess that game is coming out because a few streamers got advanced copies, probably hand picked to not say anything that would be remotely political about the game.

This made me read the Wikipedia article on the battle it's based off of. Did you know that the US used white phosphorous and depleted uranium rounds? Did you also know Coalition forces controlled people entering and exiting the city and wouldn't let men between the ages of 15-50 leave? I am wondering if people who play this game are going to google any of this, probably a few. I don't think this game is going to change anyone's minds about the Iraq war, Fallujah, or whatever.

The game still has it's main feature of procedurally generated encounters, so buildings, building layouts, and enemy positions are all random. I think abstracting a real place to a series of systems, especially in this case, is pretty bad. I don't know who this game is for, other than people still stuck in 2006. People who want an actual milsim shooter will play Arma or Tarkov. This is an incredibly bad idea that has been cooking since 2009.

The game looks kind of last gen, not spectacular but not terribly bad. I don't think it does anything particularly new or novel in terms of FPS gameplay, but I think the setting is going to be enough for it to get the undeserved attention.

anyway, thinking about this makes me angry.
