BeamNG updated with a huge new desert map, and a slew of offroad cars to drive around on it with. I have been enjoying pointing one of these huge trucks into a direction and following the paths. I also love driving the wheels completely off of rental cars in the desert.
There is no "gameplay" but driving around, and despite the absence of "objectives" or "progression" I find myself spending hours meditatively tracing these desert trails and thinking up my own stories behind the drivers and passengers of them.
BeamNG, despite not having much of a game to it, has a lot of staying power as a simulator because of how much detail they put into the car's designs, the worlds, and the simulation itself. Smashing cars only becomes part of the experience. What happens when you drive a luxury SUV over dirt berms at full throttle? Etc.
