Rivian unveiled two new cars today. A new compact crossover and a sub-compact crossover that their genius marketing team has named the R2 and R3, since they are the successors of Rivian’s current models (wait for it) the R1T and R1S. Woah. Calm down there, guy.
The R2 starts at $45,000 and is coming in 2026, so it basically doesn’t exist and it’s also too expensive for me to give a shit. The R3 is coming later and an undisclosed “lower” price, so it basically doesn’t exist, and I also do not care. Same old same old. Chevrolet promised the same thing. So has every other company, including even Honda and Toyota who are notably anti-EV. I’m so bored of the EV space.
