Honestly, even if what Predstrogen had said was a grotesque, genuine death threat, the fact that Matthew is surprised by the Tumblr userbase defending a “death threat” (in his eyes, anyway) shows just how truly disconnected he and the Tumblr Staff are from the userbase. I mean, if he’s shocked Tumblr users are fine with death threats, despite it being a relatively surface level inside joke on Tumblr for years, then there might just be a flickering chance that he and Staff genuinely didn’t know about the TERF problem and Automated Moderator abuse simply by how absolutely numb and ignorant they are towards the site’s general users and discussions.

Matthew allegedly being a drug and alcohol abuser actually puts a lot of his more pathetic actions into perspective. It doesn't justify them by a mile, but the whole me-me-me and power-grabby nature of them makes a lot more sense now. This whole time I've just been like "what part of this man's head makes him think this is an acceptable thing to do?"

If the drug abuse allegations are true, then the "making a bullet list of his morals" and "chasing a woman to another social media site where he proceeded to harass and dox her" things make a lot more sense, now with the perspective that he's probably turnt off his ass on Adderall and liquor. He probably hit a breaking point a while ago, and that's why he was on leave. Instead of getting the help he needs, he's probably doubled down and started making things worse by using his newly ample free time to only feed his addictions, and now he's hit a new breaking point by trying to maintain control of a situation and company that he's now facing the reality of losing.

All I can say is I hope he gets help and realizes what he's doing is wrong, but who tf knows if that's going to happen. He's a rich, white, cishet man, so I'm not holding my breath.

It's absolutely hilarious how Matthew Mullenweg gaslit his way into the Streisand effect.

I mean, he could've just not said anything, and the rumors would've just remained that, but instead, he went public and admitted to shit he absolutely shouldn't have from a legal standpoint, and then he basically said, "clearly I'm the victim here. ME. Little ol' basic rich white guy number 7. The true victim of this situation. I was fearing for my life. I mean, just look at this horrendous and obscene display of gorey violence!"
