The coworker who manages the standing order that buys Zits told me that they all disappear so clearly they must be popular but I don't think that's true nobody is reading Zits I think someone is going around to libraries stealing their copies of Zits
I do believe that there are teens who read Archie comics but I think they're best classified as a type of cryptid
i used to read zits, when I was younger and my parents still got a newspaper delivered every sunday zits was on my list of comics i would read

I dunno about "relatable" since i was always a queer weirdo but I appreciated the surrealist humor
As a child I was obsessed with Archie comics. In my defense I lived in a town with like 100 people in it that had an abandoned meat-packing plant on one side and an 1800s graveyard on top of a lonely hill at the other. One of my friend's older cousins there dug a hole big enough for him to live underground. I wasn't allowed to play over there but I saw it once and he had a chair and a bed down there and everything. I could have died of jealousy. Anyway as I was saying, in my defense,
I VERY remember an ad in one of them (I got the digest things from the checkout counter at the Raley's when we went into Yreka) for like a hardcover compliation or something and it called the characters "the only teenagers older than Dick Van Dyke." It took me until I was 17 or so to remember that and realize that they didn't especially think kids were reading these things, and what age group they thought might be.

i am pretty sure i have a zits comic collection kicking around somewhere in this very apartment & i don't remember at all if i wanted it or if my dad just bought it for me bc he thought of me as a weird slacky teen
