back when "@staff are all pedophiles for having a mild acceptance towards drawn cub art that hurts no one" was the discourse of the day, i put into action a lesson i learned from twitter:
i fucking blocked literally anyone who remotely called staff pedophiles or complained about the allowance anywhere i could see it. i know where "call random queer people pedophiles over mild stuff" goes, and it's just transmisogynistic cesspits of callout posts that get vulnerable people fucking killed via exile
and it has been a fantastic decision on this website. it did lead to me blocking a lot of "popular accounts" (so the electric arc cult bullshit seemed to have no origin to me), but it's mean that half the discourse i just don't see, because of course the usual troublemakers are the ones who compared queer people not banning drawn art to fucking child molesters
do not give those people a fucking inch, because they will strangle you with that rope you handed them the moment you have a Weird kink, the moment their standards shift, the moment you are suddenly branded a pedophile because someone decided you had bad vibes. i've seen it happen, i have had it happen to me, i nearly lost housing over this bullshit, i wrote a whole satirical fucking guidebook about it.
"pedophile" is not a fucking word to throw around lightly, especially when it's just at "queer people made art i didn't like".
