Part 2 of my side story comic about Jack is all done!!! B)

  • I'm still maintaining that you don't need to have read the visual novel he's from to enjoy this! (If you DO happen to get confused, reading the synopsis on the VN's itch page would probably be enough to offset that).
  • Main thing you need to know is that this is a story about a newly sentient baby robot looking for his mommy repeatedly (with varied results)...and then Stuff Keeps Happening.
  • The entire thing is under a 10 minute read if you missed the first part. It's also free.
  • I worked very hard on this and this project is some of my best work in comics and I appreciate your time immensely.

this is a comic about a real thing that happened to me and my friends. i promise we're not this chaotic around randos 😂 the minute we got out of that dungeon i knew i had to write it down for a future comic. took me a good few months to get around to it, but i had a blast!

big thanks to syri and vhyx (who are not on cohost) and @kova for letting me prod their characters around!

it's five pages so the rest is under a cut to save your scrolly fingers.

page one of a digitally drawn comic. four FFXIV characters are walking through a dungeon. the tank spots a Mysterious Doorway and decides to run in. the healer follows him, leaving the two DPS to fend for themselves.

@zelkova asked:

How has your art changed over the years? Favorite comment you’ve ever received on your work? :3

it's interesting to think about a change in my art in terms of style rather than just improvement - i don't think it's possible to disconnect the two! in earlier years, the most noticeable change in my art was a shift from like... bad anatomy manga style to something with a lot more form and structure. but at the same time, because i was studying western animation, i picked up a lot more influence from western styles. i also got much better at dynamic posing. animation will do that to you, as will life drawing.

as my art settled into a more consistent style, the things that have changed are less about structure and more about polish. not sure how to quantify this other than like... i think my stuff is just more cohesive and consistent. i've also gained a lot of speed and confidence when it comes to my one off illustrations. i slapped out a piece with four figures in it in the span of like 3-4 hours recently because i know my process and system and i can just sit down and Do That. (i forgot to post that piece here so i will do that after this ask!)

as for a favourite comment, i can't think of one off the top of my head lol. but i like when people notice little details i've included about my characters that tell their story.
