since reddit is uh down, are there any lecture series on yt or podcast that’s worth listening/watching to?
interested in in-depth takes on history and game design lately, though stuff like economics and biology would be neat too
no more social media. i make text games that are poorly rated in game jams and talk about cool niche stuff.

At the risk of naming extremely obvious picks that aren’t academic enough: I’m a fan of the “Video Game History Hour” podcast as well as “Eggplant: The Secret Lives of Games”. On youtube, “A Critical Hit” by Kate Willært and “Preserving Worlds” are both some cool bits of videogame history research.
Outside of games, I’ve liked the “This Podcast Will Kill You” episodes I’ve heard, and my partner’s a big fan of “You’re Wrong About”.
I'm having a great time with Revolutions by Mike Duncan. I started with the third season on the French Revolution and it was just a great listen.
Heard good things about "Game Studies Study Buddies", a podcast by Michael Lutz (which I think you already know from My father's long long legs and The uncle who works from Nintendo) and Cameron Kunzelman!
I think it has a strong academic bent, and is more like, game cultural studies landmarks than straight-up games criticism/game design.
