I've pretty much completed Void Stranger and I'm filled to the brim with emotions I don't know how to convey. Things I don't know how to express. I feel like I've just experienced an art piece designed around "are you willing to struggle through hell with no guarantee a reward is there?" Two hours in my answer was "I don't think I am" and was ready to quit and just read about it. Now I'm sitting here realizing the answer was "yes, I am that person."

The look and sound of this game feels like it was tailor made for my sensibilities. It's wild to me that such a thing even exists, that something originally designed to be a short puzzle romp spiraled out into this experience that, for some, can be an emotional journey.

If you think video games are just "silly little things" then this game won't do it for you. If you think video games have the potential to be an emotional experience, then I think you need to at least try this game and find out if you're willing to struggle without guarantee of satisfaction.
