hmm, having a feed that's a mix of very short-form and fairly long-form content is a bit of a… weird reading experience? I have to disagree with people who think Twitter's character count is all bad; the 280-character limit means your feed doesn't get too wide a variation in post length and thus time needed to consume each. maybe I'd like a site that explicitly segregates microblogs from blogs (having separate feeds for them?) because the way I engage with them is pretty different

i saw some musing that you shouldn't short post on cohost; i don't get that. i don't really see what's bad about having a silly thought and just posting it. when everything's long it definitely makes short posting seem Wrong
I don't really get that either, and I think it's a losing battle to try to get people not to do it? like it or not, this site is functionally fairly similar to Twitter and Tumblr, and when you have that design people are going to make short posts

I've definitely suffered from not being able to bookmark posts when I'm not in the mood/place to read someone's long ass blog posts but I know I'll love to when I have the time, I think that would be useful too
out of interest, why does not using your web browser's bookmarks / tabs not work for you? I have several long chosts in tabs that I'm going to get to later atm
