Saint Patrick was a disgusting colonizer and the "snakes" were those of the indigenous religion of Ireland. Saint Brigid was a cool person, a friend of foxes, and is celebrated on February 1st, the approximate date of the original celebration of Imbolc which marked the end of the darkness and coming of spring. Also Brigid the goddess watched over things to do with the hearth and the forge, she had both feminine and masculine energies associated with her.

(OOC artist talking now) I even gave Sally the middle name Brigid in honor of the goddess as she is the one I look to and celebrate.
