but does the missile know how fast it's moving?

DecayWTF
@DecayWTF

When the missile has moved from where it was to where it is, it can substract where it was from where it is and divide that by how long it took to get to where it is from where it isn't,

exerian
@exerian

but that will only tell it how fast it WAS moving, not how fast it IS moving.

beige-alert
@beige-alert

by subtracting where it will not be from where it never was, the missile derives a deviation for guidance from where it was to where it is without passing through where it was not

exerian
@exerian

so it can guess but it doesn't know.

as i suspected.

mintexists
@mintexists

the missle knows its guesses are incorrect so it makes every guess and subtracts that set from the set of every answer and gets only one answer

exerian
@exerian

where does it get the list of "every answer" from ???

also, due to quantum interference the answer returned is itself an innumerably infinite set.

mintexists
@mintexists

it gets the list of every answer by knowing how fast it could be moving, and how fast it couldn't be moving, and adding these two sets together to form a set of how fast it could or couldn't be moving

fortunately, missiles do not know quantum physics, so they do not need to worry about quantum interference. to ensure this, a monkey was placed in the missile control system, and was strictly prohibited from learning quantum physics, despite its complaints that it would like to learn quantum physics. To do so, all quantum physics books were removed from the monkey's habitat, and all traces of such were destroyed

mintexists
@mintexists

the trout know quantum physics so they are left alone

@hillexed

wow maybe that's why they're masters of fluid dynamics
