Technically, if you skip the feature length theatrical movie, the four episode anime mini series, the dlc that is incredibly obviously cut content, and the side quests that take up 90% of the play time and offer no real relevance to the plot, you too are speedrunning FFXV.
However, if you do the emotional payoff at the end of the game will completely miss you, and you'll have wasted your time.
In this cohost user's opinion, the emotional payoff in Final Fantasy XV is top tier.
Need to live 30 more years so I can experience it in the Final Fantasy XV: Remake

i’m at least glad we seem to be getting Versus XIII in some form via kingdom hearts bullshit. so i get to thrive in that respect
I played FFXV in 2020 after the wider ship had really sailed on it. It's a really touching game that really clicked with me. Noctis is a really underappreciated FF protagonist who I really love. I'll always be sad it never got to really shine due to the internal staff shakeup.
the original chapter 13 destroyed me emotionally. i mean, the entire game did. when they want to write an emotional story they sure can.
