I mean, I do have a weird shaped desk, so it was creating weird border zones on it that cause things to pile up beyond the border. Also because it's harder to clean a soft rubber mat than it is a solid wood surface, my desk was far messier than I used to let it be.
if your desk mat is causing you trouble, cast it away.
I think I'm with you on this one, though I may still use a normal-ish sized mouse pad out of worry of scuffing up the desk from prolonged use, I use a lower DPI so I'm moving my mouse around a lot
I did this and I agree - normal sized mouse pads are for me.
(My desk is still horrendously messy though)
