I can't stop staring at the "cleaned up" Guernica because it really drives home for me how horrifying the bombing Picasso was trying to portray. I got to see Guernica in person, and if you do so, the sheer size of the canvas helps shake you out of your malaise, but it really is hard to access those emotions once the image has been copied so many times. I really appreciate getting this second chance at seeing this piece for the first time.

They made a Finnish translation like 40, maybe 50 years ago. I managed to find the first few volumes in my local library and I loved them as a kid, but it's been decades since I've seen it anywhere.
