the days are finally getting warm and long enough to bring out the airbrush again... i got this kit back in september right as it started getting too cold to paint and it's felt unpleasant leaving it unfinished, so it's nice finally closing the loop (the kit's frame arms girl durga; doing a custom color scheme)

this was the first non-gundam plastic model character kit i found / built, but i only got around to painting her after doing a couple others first. i was really into witch from mercury then and was ready to pick up another mech at the local model shop when i saw her there, was like "whoa! i can make a robot bunny magic girl instead!" and sank deeper into the abyss. here's the kit if you want to sink into the abyss too!!

i felt a bit more confident experimenting with colors / gradients for this one with the airbrush. im really happy with the rainbow skirt...

painting gradients is fun

still pretty new to painting but i'm really happy about how the iridescence gradients on the armor and sword turned out! i figured painting a more complex / many-color kit would be stressful but it was actually really fun... she's also very cute which helps!

the kit is Imperial Girl from Kotobukiya, and her game's Etrian Odyssey IV which i strongly recommend! i'll write a bit about it one of these days
