People will tell you "with the current variants most cases are milder" and as someone who is just getting over a "mild" case let me tell you: "Milder" means less likely to result in hospitalization or death, even setting aside possible long term effects having a "mild" case of acute COVID still SUCKS ALL THE BALLS and not in the good way. Keep getting the new shot every year and keep (or resume) masking in high-exposure-risk settings, you don't want this shit.
(Also should go without saying but to be clear: these "mild" variants can still be quite dangerous to people with other risk factors, and your vacc and masking reduces the chances of folks who it could be real bad for getting it from you, WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY)
