They have not played any other racing games ever
Just yesterday I watched a YouTube video of BeamNG and then another of FH5 and the latter was absolutely unwatchable because I could now see how the car physics works. Surely they would have had the same reaction with an actual simcade game and a NFS
i will absolutely be the first to say NFSU2 had no right being as complex as it was with the tuning menu and that it was VERY welcomed to make cars drive how I wanted them to as well as letting me feel like a racing engineer, but also changing the air pressure in your tires does not a simulation make.
Yeah a lot of the NFS games predating EA being a microtransaction design house struck a great balance between "complex and technical" and "streamlined to the fun parts". Porsche is my favorite and the Undergrounds are second and third, I've seen video of the newer games and they look like I would get nauseous playing them
