iโ€™m playing gran turismo 7 again now that i have a wheel and hey this game is still Pretty Great

been fooling around with the photo mode, which remains an incredible set of functionality in an already dense game that is only tangentially about racing and mostly about How Cool Cars Are.

anyway this is my focus rs drifting in yosemite. itโ€™s got a cirno livery. thanks

the problem with photo mode ("Scapes") is that it makes me wish the game had any sort of free roam. like i get why it doesn't, and it's ok that it doesn't, but it would be sick if it did

it would be the biggest smack in the face to T10 and Playground if Polyphony said "we're gonna take a bite out of your pizza and do open world racing better than you" and i feel like only polyphony would truly be capable of setting out to accomplish that, and then just fuckin doing it. cuz kaz is nuts like that sometimes

in reply to @jkap's post:

my only complaint with GT7 is that it's so much about How Cool Cars Are that it kinda killed all but the trappings of the old RPG elements. I miss being dropped into the world with 10k credits and no direction. The Cafe, while delightful and a great expression of How Cool Cars Are, should never have gated progression IMO, and even if it didn't maybe it shouldn't have been a guided tour of almost the whole game. and so I continue to play GT2 and 4 sometimes lol, it's not like the old games stopped being good after all. :)
