as angry as i get about racing sometimes - or, let's be honest, all the time - there is nothing better than watching your friends succeed. watching @Eris-OEA race in its first ever LAN esports event, and then following along on the leaderboards as @jkap and @kadybat threw their Mazda 6 through an autocross event is gives me a level of pure joy and excitement that can only be topped by getting in a car myself and letting the rubber burn. there is nothing on the planet that gives me a better feeling than going fast, but watching friends and loved ones go fast gets really close.

also, as an aside: Eris had to get used to hand controls it's never used before at the LAN, so its performance in the race wasn't even close to what it's capable of in a rig it's familiar with. I'm not a slouch by any means, but during the More Female Racers league last year it managed to get ahead of me and defend its position to perfection from lap one to the checkered flag. I've never seen that much spatial awareness and aggressive but smart defending in any other driver without causing an accident, but it made me work harder than I ever worked behind the wheel. It finished in first place ahead of me, and I was never further than a second or two behind it.

There is a lot of untapped potential between the two of us. I think we're capable of accomplishing some truly incredible things when we push each other to succeed. The one biggest gift sim racing ever gave me was Eris, and I can't thank the deities enough for it.
