I've come to learn during my time painting all these 90's IMSA silhouette cars that there were actually a few different classes of IMSA silhouette cars; GTO, and GTU. GTU features cars with engines below 2.5L, so you'd see cars like the Dodge Daytona or Chevrolet Beretta competing in the series in the GTU class, while Ford Mustangs and Chevrolet Camaros fought each other in the GTO class. After doing some deeper research into what cars competed in GTU, you find a lot of ridiculous shit like the 240SX - my personal favorite car of all time - and the Mazda MX-6. So as it turns out, I wasn't just making tributes to the IMSA GTO cars - I was remaking GTU cars too. IMSA was fucking nuts in the 80's and 90's holy shit.
please bring back silhouette car racing.
