I wanted to figure out what the estimated fuel mileage was during 100 Miles of Loudon. Since most drivers refueled their cars with 15 laps to go, we can multiply 50 (the laps completed by the drivers) by 1.55 (miles, the length of a single lap) to get 77.5 miles. Then we divide that by 22 (gallons, the max fuel capacity of late model stock cars in iRacing) and we get 3.52 miles to the fucking gallon.
GOOD THING THIS ISN'T REAL OR I'D BE CONTRIBUTING TO A SIGNIFICANT UNNECESSARY USAGE OF DEAD DINOSAUR JUICE
With 34 cars on track during the race getting 3.52 miles per gallon, and each car using 28.04 gallons of fuel throughout the race...
...we virtually evaporated almost 966 gallons of dead dino sauce in just this race alone.
or, if you think about it the way I like to think about it, we saved 966 gallons of race fuel by not doing this race IRL! We're so emissions-conscious, look at us go~
