The main reason Twitter's shambling corpse has continued on this long is because a lot of journalists are there, and those journalists write articles with embedded tweets. If this change isn't a bug and is actually a decision made by Twitter, what they've decided to do is finally kill themselves off. Fascinating choice.

It's mostly amazing to me because "you can view the posts even if you aren't logged in" was, at one time, as far as I can tell the primary reason to post content on Twitter instead of Facebook

i want to think he is exactly as stupid as you say, but the functionality of debt for the rich is completely different than the debt of the poor. i think his primary motivator may have been to buy it for attention thinking he was some emperor god king like Steve Jobs or whatever, and his secondary or tertiary motivator was "well if i fuck up the left gets balkanized so who cares"
