this. i love watching sports with friends because it's just fun to cheer for or against something together, whether it's stuff like soccer or hockey, or motorsports like F1 or NASCAR. the teams i cheer for aren't often as successful as I'd want them to be, so I just go into each event looking to be entertained, rather than looking for a particular win or loss.
it's why i cheer for Haas in F1; they're basically expected to be backmarkers, so it's business as usual when they suck but massively exciting when they do well lmao
