The setup I'm providing for free here is probably going to give you the most fun racing experience you've ever had on iRacing.

I haven't found any road course LMS '23 leagues yet, but I've been testing this against the iR AI and having a fucking blast. quick 15 minute races at circuits around the world is a genuine blast, especially with the AI set just a little below my pace so I can start from the back of the grid but keep catching up to and passing other cars. This setup is particularly fun at Oulton Park w/o Chicanes and Lime Rock Classic. it seems this car is best on courses with 2nd gear turns. The barn door of a rear spoiler causes a lot of understeer at speeds faster than about 150 km/h (~93 mph). It's still fun at faster tracks like Willow Springs and Sebring, it's just not the most comfortable experience at some corners.

Tangentially related: @S56Design recently posted about her first time playing a Gran Turismo game, and mentioned that she was glad she didn't stream playing it because she feels compelled to play racing games in a particular way as an esports racer. I can relate a lot to that sentiment. For the past few years in sim racing, I always felt I needed to build a setup that was objectively faster, optimized perfectly to every track for the purpose of reducing lap times as much as mathematically possible.

This setup rejects that idea because there are no setups optimized for road racing this car. the setups you can find for the LMS23 are all for short course ovals, none of them for Lime Rock or Mid-Ohio. As far as I know, I'm the only road course setup builder for the LMS. and that means I have absolute freedom to just fuck around and find out by myself.

This setup is not about extracting as much pace out of the car as possible. This setup is not designed to make you drive the car faster. This setup is designed to maximize fun. This car is mostly steered with the throttle, allowing you to really push this car and feel rewarded for it unlike any other car on iRacing. The result of this setup is a shockingly agile road racing experience in a silhouette stock car that has no business racing on a road course. It might not set the world record leaderboards on fire, but it's not supposed to; it's supposed to make you smile behind the wheel and rekindle the joy of driving cars on and beyond the limit of grip at any racing circuit around the world. In my opinion, this setup achieves exactly that goal perfectly.
