woo! my first tape jam since I started this hobby! got to do the pencil trick and everything to re-wind it. Nothing important on this tape; I was just recording the Baba Is You OST onto it for fun. That being said, on playback, it seems to "stick" in a certain place. So I did some searching and found this very professional write-up about the problem of dry tapes and how to re-lube them. They've got a heckin Arduino hooked up to some tape player guts and a sponge full of lube. Neat!
Update: I have been advised not to lube up the tape. I played it forwards and backwards a few times instead and that seemed to iron it out.
