i'm ALMOST done with continuous collision detection, and then it's just a matter of hooking it up to the network which i fully expect to take a fraction of the time. once that's up, we're looking at more placeholder states, and playing it with people online >:)

--network--

i'm gonna be using photon pun which i know isn't the new fancy thing, but i recently learned that fusion (which is what i was going to use) has a whole lotta state/re-simulation stuff that would have been great to have when i first started working on this, but since i've done it all myself, i feel way more comfortable using pun to just handle connecting to matches and sending input history over the network!

--animation--

i've got a lotta ideas for how this game is gonna look, but i'm really excited to be doing the animations for it!! they're gonna be stylish as hell, the characters will animate at 18-24fps, but the particles and effects are going to range from 30-60fps and play through hit stop for extra impact

--story mode--

i've done some preliminary outlining for potential characters and romance arcs, as well as story mode's structure for introducing new characters to you over time! these won't be locking away which characters you can play as online or in arcade mode, but more serve to introduce characters and explore them and their relationships to others for fun context :) i should write a post about just how that system is going to work because i'm SO excited to work on it from a narrative design perspective, i haven't seen something like what i'm planning done before, so we'll see how it goes!!
